We are official partners with DirecPay, a Times of Money company associated with Citibank. They provide one of the best payment aggregator services in India, along with Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Debit Card and Net banking facilities. DirecPay supports 50+ banks across India.

DirecPay has two plans to choose from, their Corporate Plan and their Free Plan.  

Corporate Plan: DirecPay usually charges Rs. 35,000 setup fee for this plan; however, for   merchants you can avail of this plan for only Rs. 5,000 setup fee.

Free Plan: In this plan, setup fees and annual fees are zero.  DirecPay usually charges 5% transaction fees for this plan; however, for   merchants you will be charged only 2.5% for credit cards and net banking, and 3% for Amex.

How to obtain a Merchant ID with DirecPay

Please note, it takes time to get an account up and running with DirecPay.   has a strong partnership with DirecPay, and we will help you through the process. Below outlined is the procedure for issuing a Merchant ID:

Step 1: Initial Site Approval

DirecPay requires details about your company and the products you will be selling, in order to approve you for a merchant ID.  

So before you can apply, you will need to start to build out your   (eg:   ).  

Your   will need to include the below mentioned pages/information for the initial site approval:

  • About Us page - ie, who we are, what we do

  • Contact Us page - including phone, address, and email

  • Refund Policy - how you will handle returns and exchanges

  • Products

    • You should begin to set up categories and collections, and add some products

    • Each product should include description and pricing information

    • This does NOT have to be a complete and final list

Once this information is complete, your     will send an introduction email to the DirecPay team to start the process of initial site approval.  If you don’t know how to reach your  , you can email  for assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: It takes up to  2-3 working days from when you submit these details to DirecPay, for the initial site approval process to be complete.


Step 2: Supply “Know Your Customer” Documents

Post the initial site approval, DirecPay will provide you with a set of documents called “Know Your Customer” (KYC).  DirecPay will require the KYC documents in hard copy from you.

NOTE: at this time, you should inform DirecPay which plan (Corporate or Free, see above) you wish, as well as whether you wish to accept payments from customers both outside and inside India (International), or only Indian (Domestic) customers.  Read more about DirecPay International here.

NOTE: Once they receive all documents, it will take up to another five working days for DirecPay to create the MID (Merchant ID).


Step 3: DirecPay issues a Merchant ID

Once a Merchant ID and username is issued and given to you, you would need to pass this info to   so that we can complete step 4.

Step 4: Mapping Merchant ID to URL

  and DirecPay will work together to map your merchant ID to both your demo URL (  ) and your personal domain (e.g.,  This will set up your online store as an authorized referrer for your Merchant ID. 

Step 5:  Integration

  will integrate and test the payment gateway set up.  Once this is complete, you are ready to start selling!

NOTE: Once you open your store and start making sales, ALWAYS double-check on your DirecPay dashboard that a payment has been properly credited to your account BEFORE processing the order.

Setting DirecPay as your Payment Method

To configure DirecPay as a payment gateway for your  :

1. Login to your Workspace

2. Click on Settings from the left menu. 

3. Within Settings, click on Checkout and Payments.

4. Here you will see all the   integrated payment methods, including DirecPay by the Times Group. In the pulldown menu, select DirecPay International or DirecPay Domestic.

DirecPay International: If you received a DirecPay International merchant account, select this option.  DirecPay International allows you to accept payments from Indian customers as well as customers from many other countries.  Read more here.

DirecPay Domestic: DirecPay Domestic is the standard DirecPay merchant account.  This allows you to accept payments from customers within India.

5. Enter your Merchant ID in the field as shown in the screen below.  See the steps above to obtain your merchant ID.

6.Click Save.
