Webware’s Website Chat comes with customizable settings that allow you to personalize the visitor experience and control how the chat widget appears and behaves on your website. From setting a custom welcome message to choosing where the widget appears, you have full control directly from your Webware Dashboard.
🔔 What to Know Before You Start:
All changes you make in Chat Settings apply immediately to the chat widget on your website.
You can customize:
Admin Contact Information (name and email for notifications).
Chat widget welcome message and label.
Position of the chat widget on your website.
Whether the chat widget is visible to visitors.
You can update your notification email to ensure you receive alerts when new chats come in.
🛠️ Step-by-Step: How to Manage Website Chat Settings
Log in to your Webware Dashboard.
From the left-hand navigation, click Conversations.
Under Conversations, click Chat.
In the Chat section, click the Settings button in the top-right corner.
You’ll now see the Conversation Settings page where you can customize:
Admin First & Last Name: The name that appears as the admin for the chat.
Chat Notification Email: Where alerts for new chats will be sent.
Intro Text: The welcome message visitors see when they open the chat.
Welcome Message: The first message visitors see once they start the chat.
Chat Widget Label: Text that appears on the minimized chat widget (for example, “💬 Chat Now!”).
Chat Widget Position: Choose Bottom Right (Tab) or other placement options.
Show Chat Widget: Toggle to enable or disable the widget.
Once you’ve made your changes, click Save.
